Job Title: Building & Grounds Assistant
FT/PT: Part-time, hourly, non-exempt
Hours: 20-25 hours/week (evenings and weekends)
Wages: Starts at $15.00-16.50/hour - depending on qualifications and experience
We are seeking a conscientious and reliable person to work evenings and every other weekend on our Building and Grounds Maintenance Team. The ideal candidate will enjoy contributing to the upkeep and order of our well-maintained facilities; be team oriented but able to work independently; demonstrate initiative, problem-solving skills, and good judgment when managing unusual situations; and take pride in keeping the Library buildings and grounds looking their best and operating efficiently.
Responsibilities of this position include: light custodial duties to maintain an inviting environment including regularly wiping down high touch surfaces; cleaning and supplying staff and public bathrooms, mopping, vacuuming, sweeping, and dusting; timely and accurate meeting room setups and study room cleaning; providing support for public events such as moving and setting up tables, tents, and other equipment; and other tasks as assigned.

Requirements
- Physical ability to lift, move, and set up meeting room furniture and other equipment
- Ability to follow written and spoken directions in English
- Demonstrated interest in and ability to learn building and/or grounds maintenance procedures
- Experience working or volunteering in a support capacity, preferably in a similar position, preferred
- Reliable transportation
